From Jenny, Gordon’s daughter:
My father was type 1 diabetes for as long as I knew him. He was an amazing role model and father! Ironically, he diagnosed my daughter with type 1 in 2011. He passed away in 2018 of complications from the effects of T1D. I’m passionate about the cure. I’ve been volunteering and advocating for the past 12 years and recently joined as a staff member of JDRF (Indiana/Kentucky Chapter) this fall. I’m sharing a picture of my type 1 daughter with her type 1 grandfather. We used this picture in preparation for our visit to Capitol Hill where my daughter, Mary Rose, participated in JDRF Children’s Congress in 2015. They had a special bond.
