My sister Hannah was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on April 1st 2012, 21 days before she turned 13. Growing up when Hannah would tell people the day she was diagnosed everyone thought it was a joke and would laugh at her. Our mom had the motherly instinct to take her into the ER at 11 pm March 31st after knowing one person in her life who also had type 1 diabetes. My sister is the strongest person i’ve ever met. not only has she battled diabetes for 13 years but she also along the way for diagnosed with celiac disease. She is a warrior of a woman and someone i can call my hero. Everyday she continues to wake up and fight even though she really doesn’t want to. This is what makes me love her more!
