I was diagnosed at 20 months old and do not remember life without diabetes. I believe this is both a blessing and a curse, I have always had the added stress of Type 1 Diabetes but I also never had to change my lifestyle randomly one day as people who are diagnosed later in life. I am still doing daily injections but have recently put on a sensor which has made everything a lot easier just not ready for a pump yet. Diabetes is a part of me and always will be but it does not define me as a person.
