Jolene Simpson
I was diagnosed on July 18, 1980. I had just turned four. The battle with complications has been an undeniable fear. I am forever grateful for all of the counselors at the diabetes camps I attended, the endocrinologist who sometimes couldn’t answer all the questions, and the friends and family who will go to the ends of the earth to get me food before I pass out of yet another low. Struggle, everyday but it’s made me the strongest person I know.
