Kimberly Girbert
Kimberly was diagnosed with T1D 63 years ago. She has always been a research patient and has observed many changes throughout the years. She was past president of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation along with the original founder of the organization. She has been a liaison for newly diagnosed diabetics. After a very successful career in the pharmaceutical arena as a regional manager, Kimberly wanted to dedicate her time educating seniors on stroke prevention and other health related topics. She soon realized that many of the health issues were as a result of not being able to afford the expensive prescription medications that were prescribed to many of her patients. She then became a patient advocate and found ways to obtain these medications by utilizing cost saving strategies, assistance programs and grant monies. She had a heart and passion for helping those achieve a healthier lifestyle. She realized that if they couldn’t afford their medications, they also needed help with food, utilities and other daily living needs. She quickly familiarized herself with all social service agencies in every county to be able to assist with these needs. Kimberly is beyond excited to be able to continue helping families make the right choices for their loved ones by being the Public Relations Specialist and business development manager for Mission Mobile medical.
