When I was three years old I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. My mom was developing photos and she noticed I looked skinny and had dark circles under my eyes. She then took me to the hospital where they diagnosed me with type 1 diabetes. I’ve had it for pretty much my whole life (est. 1998). I was a star athlete growing up, playing varsity softball as a freshman until my junior year. I have two healthy beautiful boys, oldest going on nine and the youngest going on two. I don’t look at diabetes as a disability, because it has made me who I am today.
