Wow! Where do I even begin. I found out I was Diabetic Type 1 on 12/24/1993. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The paramedics tested my blood sugar and it was 400, which at that time that’s all that glucose meters went to. Once I was in the ER they drew my blood and it was 1500, I was in a coma for 4 days. I finally woke up and it changed my life. The doctors said the only reason why I lived was because I was an athlete and in shape. Over the years the technology and insulin changed for the better. We have so many options now a days.
