The easy answer: diabetes is a roller coaster. I have had so many ups and downs with this journey. It has taught me to be kind, because you never know what someone else is going through that you just cannot see. It has taught me patience, because you never know what comes next. It has taught me to never take anything for granted because you never know when it will get bad and you may lose it all. I have been in and out of DKA, had emotional highs and lows, just wished to be normal. But I learned in all these years that there really is no sense of normal, everyday will bring a new combination to you and it’s all a matter of how you look at it as to how it goes.
