When I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1967, I was told that the prognosis was that I could live for 20 years. I would have been 35 years old had that been true. I was also told that a cure was expected within 5 years (1972)! I am turning 74 this year, 58 years from my diagnosis. I am currently using a Tandem Pump and Dexcom CGM. Technology is great when it works but very frustrating (and very dangerous) when it doesn’t. We need a cure!
