I was diagnosed at age 10 with type 1 diabetes. My blood sugar was 486 when I was diagnosed and the doctors were amazed that I was alert and oriented and talking to them. I spent a week in the hospital and was giving myself my own shots the first day. I recently had my 25th dia-versary. My A1c is a 6.0 and I’m in the best health I ever have been with diabetes!
