Winnie
Winnie manages her chronic illness with joy and grace. Despite all of the extra care and vigilance her body requires, she never hesitates to take on new challenges—like joining a competitive dance team this year. As her parents, we are exceptionally proud of how Winnie often takes the opportunity to educate her classmates on National Diabetes Day. She is proud of who she is, and by sharing her story she is helping to de-bunk many of the myths that often surround Type 1 Diabetes.
