Question from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA:
A close friend’s 12 month old son has been recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She and her husband both work full time out of financial necessity. Are there any child care facilities available that would be equipped to handle an insulin dependent toddler? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest KinderCare. In 1996, as a result of a law suit, KinderCare, one the the largest day care providers in the United States, agreed to accept children with diabetes and to perform daily finger-stick blood tests.
