Question from Houston, Texas, USA:

My 14 year old son, diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a month ago, has developed a twitch in his legs, almost like the reaction you have when a doctor uses the instrument to test your knee reflexes on your knee. Is this related to insulin? Hormones? Who do we take him to for evaluation (pediatrician or endocrinologist)?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

I doubt that the twitch in his leg is related to his diabetes. However, I would review any concerns you have with your pediatrician.
