Peter

My son Peter was diagnosed a week after I took the CDE (certified diabetes educator) exam for the first time. I think God was preparing me by having me study up for the exam. He is now a principal of a small private school and loves teaching outdoor education. He is an Eagle Scout and was a diabetes camp counselor for many years after attending the wonderful FCCYD (Florida Camp for Children and Youth with Diabetes) for many years. We also attended many Children with Diabetes programs in Orlando. Does anyone else remember “The Pump Girls?” Children with Diabetes was always a great support to our family with the programs we attended and the online resources. As an RD, CDE I always referred families to the organization.
