My daughter was diagnosed last week. We have seen a dietitian and are currently seeing a pediatrician who seems to lack knowledge in this field. We are overseas with military and limited on resources. Do most have a specialist? If so what type?

Our son was recently diagnosed (1 week ago). He is 2. We have been told about many different ways of administering his Insulin. The syringes are pretty scary to him (and his parents). We’ve read about the “Beeper” type that is worn on a belt with a small needle inserted under the skin. Is he too young to have something like this?
