My sister was diagnosed with diabetes 2 this afternoon. We are trying to find a diet for her but she does not like a lot of the types of foods normal people eat on a day to day basis. Please help us find something that she can eat to help control her diabetes.

How will I, his doctor and the endocrinologist get my friend to understand that he has to stick to a strict regimen with his blood testing?

Unfortunately, the myth that Type 1 diabetes is a childhood disease lives on, and those of us who acquire Type 1 as adults are usually misdiagnosed, despite the obvious. We suffer horribly as doctors try pills on us, but the answer is to give us insulin.

My 5 year old has had Type 1 for a year, and has always struggled with very high blood sugars in the afternoon. Is it possible that her body is releasing counterregulatory hormones in a response to too much insulin causing a rapid drop in blood sugar?
