My 11-year-old has food issues. She sneaks things and asks for seconds or thirds at the dinner table. When she sneaks, she denies it, but her elevated blood sugars provide the proof. What do you recommend? We want her to stop this behavior before she hurts herself.

My 18 year old son feels he is invincible and is experimenting with drugs and alcohol. He got his endocrinologist to prescribe an anti-anxiety medication. I called the doctor and asked him to please stop the refills, but was told that, since my son is 18, I really could not request that. We are going to a counselor, and my son tells him the same thing — He does not intend to stop. Must I sit back and allow him to self-destruct?
