I have had type 1 diabetes for 20 years, and this morning my urine was foamy when I awoke. Since I have read this can be a symptom of protein in the urine, I am very worried. I don’t know if it matters, but I have my period. Could that be the reason?

I’ve been checking my sugar at least six times a day, and I find that sometimes my readings an hour after breakfast and for at least two-three hours after lunch are high, even though my A1c is good.
