I have a eight year old daughter who weighs 159 pounds and continues to gain weight. I am told that her body produces too much insulin. I was told that I just needed to watch what she is eating, and wait for her pancreas to shut down. Then, and only then, can the physicians assist in this problem. During a routine blood test, my son’s sugar level showed 267. Then he started taking insulin shots. Blood sugars were within the normal range after few days. I have access to a home meter and have tested her count 3 times today, all 3-4 hours after meals, one count was 126, then 99, then 108.
