Type 2

About two years ago, my father-in-law was diagnosed with borderline type 2 diabetes, and he was told this could be controlled with diet and exercise. We finally had him purchase a home monitor, and last night, we got a reading of 15mmol/L [270 mg/dl]. We don’t know where to start with controlling this.

I have type 2 diabetes treated with diet and exercise, and my last A1c was 7.1%. From your experience, what is the longest time a person can control type 2 diabetes with exercise and diet alone? I know everyone is different, but just generally.

I am insulin resistant and have been on Glucophage. Since then, I am eating healthier, I am exercising three to four times a week, and I have lost 10 pounds. However, I really get hungry, usually an hour or two after eating. I am eating healthy food and snacks, but being so hungry is really annoying. Is that normal for people who have their blood sugar levels under control to still be hungry all the time?

I am a mother of four, and this is hard for me. To top it off, my sex desire has left me, and my husband complains about it all the time. Is there any help for this?

I have type 2 diabetes, and my glucose readings are nearly always the same (5.2-6.2 mmol/L [94-111mg/dl]). Is it possible that sometimes it takes longer for the blood sugar level to go higher? Is this okay?

I am severely overweight, I have type 2 diabetes treated with insulin, and I have been following a tough exercise routine for five months. I have notice that, for about one to two hours afterwards, I feel energized and up, but after that I am back to feeling sluggish even though my blood sugar is no higher than 130 mg. In addition, I also have not lost any weight, so I feel that I am just wasting my time on a false hope. Do you have any suggestions?
