Question from San Antonio, Texas, USA:
Can glucose tablets be used sublingually [absorption beneath the tongue]? Do they need to be chewed in order to improve absorption? What is better to use, glucose tablets or juice?
Answer:

Sublingual glucose tablets would likely be absorbed, but very slowly if the large tablets cannot be chewed and swallowed for stomach and early intestinal absorption. Glucose gel would be a better “mouth” glucose preparation than tablets, however.
