Diagnosed with type 1 in July, my toddler still wakes about every two hours to get a drink. Is this behavioral or related to his diabetes? His blood sugars have been in range during the night.

Because of his spacy behavior, I checked my grandson’s blood sugar and found it elevated. The doctor said it was probably a fluke and indicated she’d check later at my grandson’s next check-up. Shouldn’t there be more concern? Am I worrying about nothing?

I took my toddler to the ER because she was lethargic. She had urine ketones, but no urine glucose, with a low blood sugar. Her blood sugars were elevated after a dextrose I.V. Could this still be diabetes? What else might have such symptoms?

My niece was just diagnosed with type 1 and put on 70/30 insulin. She has developed a rash. Could she be allergic to the insulin? She is also still having blood sugars as high as 500 mg/dl [27.8 mmol/L]. Is this common?
