Betty Ann Robinson
I was diagnosed January 16, 1966 at age seven and in the second grade. Those were the days of glass syringes for insulin shots multiple times daily and no glucose testing. Urine tests were thought to be the best way to determine the amount of insulin to take. My mother gave me my shots daily and monitored my food and exercise so that I could be in the best health as possible. Now, I’m in year 58 of my T1D and age 66. My goal is to stay on top of technology that is available to us and use it to continue the good health that I have. Diabetes is like riding a surf board. You just hop on and ride the tide!
