I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was five years old. Throughout the years this disease has taken me through many ups and downs. It has been a struggle most my life and I’ve found many times where diabetes was a burden to me. Despite the downfalls, I always pushed through.

Now, as an adult, when I reflect on my life, I see the strength this disease has brought me. I know I can conquer anything I put my mind to and I’ll never let anything stop me, not even diabetes! I will be 30 this summer and it’ll be 25 years this year since I’ve been diagnosed. I hope my words can bring encouragement to not only children but adults with T1D all over the world.
