When Mikayla was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, our world stopped – temporarily. Mikayla has always been a trooper. She has never fought insulin injections, finger sticks, CGM site changes, or pump site changes. She has other autoimmune diseases and challenges, but has never stopped. She is my hero! She just graduated from high school, and plans to pursue a career in law. Type 1 diabetes is what she has, not WHO she is!
