I was five years old when I was diagnosed with a blood sugar over 900, the highest my doctor had seen in a conscious patient. The challenges of not knowing your blood sugar in those early years was immense, with the only test I could do at home was a urine test that showed when my blood sugar was high three hours earlier. Now with the pump and CGM it is SO much earlier to manage my diabetes. Since then, I unfortunately continue to collect autoimmune disorders (or disorders generally believe to autoimmune) including rheumatoid arthritis, celiac disease, Raynaud’s phenomenon, and recently lymphocytic colitis. Need a better hobby.
