This month (February 2025) it has been 39 years since I was diagnosed as a 23 yr old. I grew up with a type 2 mother and a type 2 brother and for years it was assumed I was type 2 because of my age. Having been involved with Breakthrough T1D (JDRF) for the past 13 years I had no idea what little I knew about this disease. I’m thankful for the advancements in treatment and the community supported by CWD and Breakthrough. It’s been life changing and life saving for me.
