At 12 years old, I was very sick for weeks. My parents thought I had the flu. I was very thirsty and my mom kept giving me orange juice. Went into coma. I remember hearing the doctors tell my parents that I’m a very sick boy probably won’t live past 25. At that age, my bucket list was to drive a car and have sex. I though it was cool that I can give myself shots and gross out my brothers. I tried to keep up to date with progress with a insulin and blood testing. At 64 years old now, I have no complications from diabetes.
