I am 13 years old and always feeling tired, sad, thirsty and hungry. I have been doing research on diabetes and found out my family has a history of Type 1 diabetes. Should I ask my mother to take me in to the doctor or should I just see if anything happens?

My son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 18 months and is just about 2 years old. His blood sugar readings have been up and down meaning sometimes 600 to 50 in a day. Will this ever level out?
