I am a female and almost 13. About 8 months ago, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Since then, I have put on a considerable amount of weight. I would like to know what I can do to maintain or even bring down my weight and what kind of diet I need to stick to.

My 3 year old son has been a Type 1 diabetic for about 1.5 years. For the last few weeks, we have had to decrease his insulin at supper time. We are having too many night time lows. He is was waking up several nights in a row, when we checked his blood sugar, he was around the 40-50 level.

Our daughter, age 8, has had diabetes since 2, and asthma since 4. She was just diagnosed as being hypothyroid. She has had severe stomach aches and headaches for the past 2 months. We have now seen a pediatric gastroenterologist, who suspects celiac disease.

On making Maple-Flavored syrup, what is the shelf life span that you can keep it stored? It would save money for some of us that have a hard time purchasing diabetic food and supplies.

My daughter now has had diabetes for 3 1/2 months and we can’t seem to get it under control. Her numbers have gone as high as 450 and we always check for ketones — there aren’t any present.
