My 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with fructose/sucrose intolerance last week. Many diabetic recipes use fructose. I’m assuming that she should under no circumstances use fructose. Can I substitute a sugar substitute like Equal which she is allowed to use in recipes?

If all carbohydrates and portions of proteins are broken down to the fundamental “fuel” glucose, what’s it matter if you eat a piece of cake or green beans and bread?
