My 12 year son has been on the pump for 8 months. His numbers were great on injections with a 6.2 hemoglobin A1c, but since he has been on the pump his numbers have been all over the place and now has a 9.2 A1c. What do you think could be the problem? We are both very discouraged.

I’m worried about my sister. I’m afraid she may be pretending to have diabetes. After our parents divorced last year (I’m 15 and my sister is 10) she has been desperate for attention. Her best friend has diabetes, so she knows a little about the disease.

My girlfriend is 32 years old, and for 14 years has had Type 1 diabetes. She doesn’t accept her situation and she has poor control. I thought that a period with another people with diabetes would help her (and me) obtain a good understanding of diabetes.

I am 26 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 three months ago. For one year before that, I was taking Propecia (the hair loss pill). Could that be the reason for my diabetes?

While I read a great deal about Humalog being able to maintain its efficacy for up to 28 days without refrigeration, we have had at least 6 instances of Humalog “going bad” on us. The bottles usually have been open a couple of weeks, so they are not close to expiration. Is there something we are missing?
