Diagnosis and Symptoms

My 14 year old son was diagnosed last year with type 1. He did test positive for antibodies. A recent C-peptide was 1.6 ng/ml. Could he have another type of diabetes instead of type 1? Can he be controlled by medication instead of injections?

We would be very grateful if you could help us regarding the problem my daughter is having. We had her first lab test done when her body weight dropped 4kgs. We had her do three lab tests from which the local pediatrician confirmed that she had diabetes.

Since diagnosis, my student has only been over the 250 mg/dl [13.9 mmol/L] blood sugar required for insulin coverage, and this was only on weekends. On school days, he has occasionally come in to the clinic complaining of feeling woozy and has had low blood glucose. Does he really have diabetes? We tested her this morning and it was 102 mg/dl [5.7 mmol/L] fasting and 100 mg/dl [5.6 mmol/L] two hours after her breakfast. Is that normal?

I have had type 1 diabetes for seven years, and, about six months ago, I was experiencing symptoms like menopause, and after testing, the doctors found I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, but no one can seem to understand how I have type 1 diabetes and PCOS. They decided to check for GAD antibodies, and the level was 5.3. Any input?
