My son was diagnosed 1 year ago with Type 1 diabetes. He is still in his honeymoon. We are contemplating a move to Rio de Janeiro and would like to find out the medical capabilities of other countries, specifically Rio, Brazil in our case.

I have a son who is a diabetic and has been since he was 2; it’s been 8 years now. My problem is regarding my second son who is 4. I checked his blood on occasion and his sugars fluctuate wildly.

Both of our children have Type 1 diabetes, plus a family friend has low blood sugar. All 3 claim drinking tea reduces blood sugars. Could the tannic acid in tea cause this or a coincidence that this is happening?

My son is twelve and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes six months ago. I don’t understand the diabetes “diet” thing and eating healthy. If all carbohydrates and portions of proteins are broken down to the fundamental “fuel” glucose, what’s it matter if you eat a piece of cake or green beans and bread?

My daughter is 14 and feels she can do “nothing right”. She has now begun to test only on occasion and has missed giving herself a needle in the morning after breakfast. I am concerned that she may be experiencing depression centered around the diabetes issues.

I have a 7 year old who has been having a problem with frequent urination. She has two aunts and a cousin with diabetes, who are also Hispanic. She recently had her urine and blood checked and there wasn’t any sugar in the urine and the blood was 90.

Why is it that some people can have a 500 blood glucose, but not have ketones, while I can be at 240 or thereabouts and be spilling large ketones in my urine?

I’m a 17�year old female. Recently, my blood glucose has been in the range of 200-380. I eat little, inject a lot more insulin than I used to, and get enough exercise, but my blood glucose remains high. What can I do?
