I am the only T1 in my entire family in both sides. It came from another illness that happened upon me when I was 10. It’s been a rough rollercoaster starting out with an A1C over 12. Got worse in my teen years to 16. Had a ketoacidosis episode at age 18. After I got pregnant with my first baby at 22 I got my A1C down to 6.4 stayed that way till I had my baby. Got pregnant again shortly after and thankfully it stayed the same way. After both of my babies were born I kept my A1C at a steady 7.2 for a good eight years till recently I found out that it went down even further to 6.4 again. It’s a huge struggle but I’m managing.
