My HMO and my doctor are giving me contradictory information on Rezulin. My doctor says that there are no reported cases of liver damage beyond the first 8 months on, and that the numbers of fatalities are overblown.

Our 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with diabetes 3 months ago. She does great most of the time but recently she has a hard time with her shots.. We use the short needle but she still has problems. Is it okay to numb the area lightly with ice before giving the shot?

My 13-year-old daughter would love to be able to eat only when hungry, rather than on a schedule. She takes Humalog and NPH in the morning, Humalog at dinner, and NPH at bedtime. She isn’t interested in a pump.

I have a 12 year old son who has had diabetes for 2 1/2 years. His doctor recommended counseling for a possible learning disability and behavior problems. The diagnosis was depression caused by hypoglycemia and the only recourse would a lifetime of taking Prozac.
