My young son has been having some of the symptoms of diabetes and had elevated readings during an informal glucose tolerance test. Does it sound like early type 1?

Diagnosed about six years ago with type 1, my son has always been antibody negative. His A1cs have gone up to a recent 9.2. Could we use his brother’s cord blood to reverse his diabetes? Should the doctor pursue testing for MODY or such?

My young teen son has gained weight and his A1c has gone up. A PhD nutritionist has recommended that my son switch to taking his insulin after meals and increase his Synthroid. Is it okay to give NovoLog after meals? What are your thoughts on his TSH level?
