Diagnosed with type 2 last October, my son was re-diagnosed with type 1 when he tested positive for antibodies. Another doctor said it could be somewhere in the middle of both. Should we try to have him seen at the Joslin Center in Boston for a clear diagnosis?

My daughter’s A1c has gone up since her diagnosis two months ago and her blood sugar is over 500 mg/dl [27.8 mmol/L] much of the time. Where in the U.S. can I take her for medical care? Should I consider getting her a pump?

I provide care for a young girl whose blood sugars are often quite elevated. Mom has said not to worry, that she will adjust the girl’s insulin. I am worried about the girl’s health and am unhappy with all the unhealthy foods mom provides. What do you suggest I do?
