A 14 year old female patient has type 1 diabetes and Addison’s disease. At 126 pounds. she takes about 100 units of insulin a day. Is insulin resistance common with Addison’s disease, or, if she is being over insulinized and feeding insulin all day to prevent lows?

Recently, my mother, a nursing home resident was diagnosed with diabetes and given insulin. Her blood sugars are still high. How high can they go before it becomes a serious problem?
