What is the prevalence of diabetes in Yemenites living in Israel?

My six year old son has had type 1 diabetes for a year and a half. He used to be able to tell me when he was “low”, and now he says he doesn’t know. He was having nighttime lows. If the nighttime lows stop, will the ability to detect his “lows” come back?

I have type 2 diabetes and try to take care of myself. I have never smoked. However, I am in some situations in our Union Hall where everyone is smoking. What are the effects of second-hand smoke on people with diabetes?
