My 6 1/2 year old son was diagnosed at birth with Type 1 diabetes. Our doctor called to say he had a high microalbumin level. What exactly does this mean for his long term health? What kidney medications would he have to take and how do they adversely affect his health? How well do they work?

My 15 year old daughter has type 1 diabetes since age 7. She has been experiencing lows at night and failing to wake up. When I find her, usually about 2 to 3:30 A.M., she is rigid and unresponsive.

My husband’s 12 year old son has a seizure disorder that no one has been able to identify. His neurologist refuses to consider any correlation between blood sugar and his seizures. Orange juice has always been able to bring him out of his seizures. Does this sound like it could be diabetes or hypoglycemia?

My daughter is 7.5 years old and has had Type 1 diabetes for 3 years. I want to know the ideal dose for her — she’s 25 kg., and whether I should give her insulin 3 times a day or 2 times. I’ve noticed that with 3 injections she’s better controlled. I also want to know whether diabetes has anything to do with growing up short.
