My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 18 months old. She is now 4. She was potty trained at age 3, but always had a problem staying dry through the night. She bedwets 3-4 times a week, regardless of her blood sugar numbers. How can I control and handle this?

My 4 3/4 year old daughter was diagnosed one year ago. Since diagnosis, she seems to have more “stomach flu” type bugs than her peers. Our diabetes team does not seem overly concerned about this, but it worries me. Could this have anything to do with her diabetes?

I’m diabetic type 1 for 16 years, now 31 years old, female. My nails on my hands are splitting and cracking all the time in spite of consistent adoption of the best vitamin-mineral complexes. Is it associated with nerve damage? No one doctor here can give me an answer.

My three year old son was diagnosed a little over a month ago. Now my six year old daughter is showing signs of the disease. We are in disbelief that two of our children could be diagnosed with diabetes within a months time. I was wondering if you have ever come across a similar case.

My 8 year old son who has had Type 1 diabetes for three years. His hemoglobin A1cs have been 5.6, 5.9, and 6.4 for the last three years. Recently, it was 6.9. Can you tell me how his A1cs are affected? Is it always the high sugars, or can frequent lows contribute to a high A1c?
