My 7 year old son has had fluctuating blood sugars for 3 years now. Lately he has been running low, 30 to 40. In the past two months, we have had 4 episodes of low sugars. In the past two months, we have had 4 episodes of low sugars, swelling of lymph nodes in armpit and groin, night sweats, etc. Any ideas?

My granddaughter was diagnosed 16 months ago. Her current insulin requirement is 5 units/day. Therefore, she must still be making some endogenous insulin. When I suggested the partial endogenous mechanism to my daughter-in-law she seemed incredulous.
