I have a 27 year old daughter with Cri Du Chat Syndrome. Several months ago, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Have you seen or heard of another person with Type 1 Diabetes or perhaps even Type 2 who also has Cri Du Chat syndrome?

My 2 year old son was recently diagnosed. We were told to keep his blood sugar between 70 – 200 with 80 – 120 being ideal. If his sugars consistently run in the 120 – 200 range, will he be at a higher risk for complications?

My son is 12 and has Type 1. The effect on his blood sugars for long acting insulin (NPH and Ultralente) seems to be decreasing. Is there any evidence that might support an individual becoming immune to any type of insulin?

Can one develop resistance to long acting insulin (NPH)? My morning blood sugars are high. During the day when I take Humalog, they are more stable. Increasing the night time shot does not seem to help.
