My wife, who has type 2, is about six weeks pregnant. She has been having elevated blood sugars. Might they have already had an adverse effect on the baby? If there were any problems with the fetus, when would we come to know about it them and would there be anything we could do about them?

My 14-year-old son has always been tall, but seemed to stop growing about a year ago. Is it because of his diabetes? Does insulin stop the growth hormone? Do kids stop growing at the age of 13? Can bolusing right before bed stop the growth hormone? Are there tests we can do?

After sleeping for 15 straight hours, my 15-month-old still dozed off until I was able to get her to eat some Skittles. She was fine 15 minutes later. Could she have had a low blood sugar? I have since checked her blood sugar and seen it low and elevated.
