My daughter’s school would like to see some studies on the extent of cognitive thinking impairment when blood sugars are out of the normal range. Where can I find such studies?

Both my husband and older son have type 1. Our infant son doesn’t have the high risk genes. Is there still a higher probability than the general population that he might get type 1?

We were told at a diabetes fair that a One Touch Meter is more accurate than the Freedom Lite we have been using for our grandson. Which is better? We use the Lite because we are uninsured and can get a discount on strips.

Since his diagnosis last September, my son has had chronic fatigue, headaches, and circles under his eyes. He was on Levoxyl, but then taken off it. What else should we look for? The doctor has suggested an allergist and psychologist.

Since a stomach bug a week ago, my son has needed no insulin to cover the foods he has consumed and has had in range blood sugars. He is still getting Lantus, but I need to reduce this, too. Is this common after an illness?

Since November 2008, my teen daughter has had periods of stomach pain, nausea and vomiting, followed by swelling and very heavy menstrual cycles. Her blood sugars are mostly in range, with an A1c of 14.1. Have you seen such symptoms before? What do you think of these symptoms?

Since going on an OmniPod, we find we need to treat our daughter’s lows twice because it takes much longer to bring up her blood sugar What might be causing this? Should we suspend the pump to help bring up her blood sugars?

My son has goes through three one to two week periods when he felt ill, but had no vomiting, fever or ketones. The doctor feels it is not diabetes related. What is your opinion?
