We would be very grateful if you could help us regarding the problem my daughter is having. We had her first lab test done when her body weight dropped 4kgs. We had her do three lab tests from which the local pediatrician confirmed that she had diabetes.

I am a case manager for a one year old male child who was admitted with a blood sugar of 16 mg/dl [0.89 mmmol/L. After treatment, he recovered quickly with no apparent ill results. His physician is proposing a 48 hour admission to challenge his system to see if he is truly hypoglycemic. Is this a medically accepted treatment for the diagnosis of hypoglycemia and if so where may I find documentation on this?

We consider her to be on tight control, but, even though her Hemoglobin A1c tests have always been between 6.0 and 6.8%, we recently found out that she has microalbumin in her urine. What does this mean and how will this affect her?

Our child was brought to the China hospital with diabetes ketoacidosis. When we asked if he is type 1 or 2 doctors said that he should be type 1 (like all kids) and ketoacidosis never developed in child type 2 diabetes and hence no other tests are necessary. What tests are done in USA for the exact determination of diabetes type?
