In Canada as in many other countries we use the international system of measurement for glucose blood parameters (mmol/L). Do you think that glucose levels could be expressed in both sets of units so that international visitors to your web site could better relate to the questions and answers?

I have a five year old who was diagnosed 10 months ago with type 1. A distributor called me wanting me to put my daughter on his products, claiming that if she is still in the honeymoon stage her diabetes may be reversed. Do you think the products could really do what he claims, or is he simply trying to “drain my pockets?”

My daughter is eight years old has had type 1 diabetes for two months. She has just started taking Ultralente and is in the honeymoon stage. She was on NPH but we had to many lows. The Ultralente seems to control her better. I am looking for information about children and Ultralente since most take a combination of NPH and Regular or Humalog.

I had gestational diabetes. I now know that it was likely brought on by my problem with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Should I be concerned about my daughter either (1) developing diabetes (type 1 or 2), or (2) developing PCOS like I did?

I am scoutmaster taking a crew for 2 weeks of wilderness backpack camping this coming summer. One of our crew is an 17 year old boy who was diagnosed with diabetes two years ago. Any suggestions on the types of snacks he could carry to minimize weight? Is there anything else we should be doing to ensure he has a safe and enjoyable trip?
