My 10 year old son was diagnosed three years ago with type 1 diabetes and positive celiac antibodies, but a negative biopsy. It has been decided to a close eye on his growth at the moment with regular follow-up. He has also be having very moody days. Could the violent moods and the celiac antibodies be connected?

I am 46 years old, have type 1 diabetes, and I have been using a pump for four months. My blood sugar is suddenly very high even though my pump appears to be working and my routine has not changed. Is “poor site absorption” a possibility? What causes it? How do I avoid it?

I am a 21 year old girl.who has had type 1 for ten months. I have made every effort to educate myself about my condition, and I would say there isn’t much that I don’t know about diabetes. Which is why I have become suicidal about my failure to control it. I am on the verge of giving up because I cannot control it, and the more it goes wrong, the more I withdraw from life.

My very close friend (age 16) has had type 1 for eight years now. She is on an insulin pump and has always had relatively good control. In the last few months however, her periods have been irregular, and she is having a problem with high blood sugars. Could diabetes be causing the irregular periods? Do you have any idea what could be causing the blood sugar not to come down?

I have four children, and the oldest (age nine) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes about six months ago. When my youngest child (age two and one -half), I believe we harvested the umbilical cord. Are you aware of any research in the area of using sibling umbilical cord blood to treat type 1 diabetes?
