I am 30 years old and have had type 1 diabetes for 21 years. I am pregnant and having trouble with low blood sugars. Some have been severe. I want to know the dangers of low blood sugars during pregnancy.

My son will be entering kindergarten, and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes seven months ago. When I called the school district to ask what their policies are regarding the care of children with diabetes, I was told that the only people allowed to administer insulin are the school nurse, the parents of the child with diabetes, and the child him or herself.

My son has type 1 diabetes. Since he’s been on summer vacation, his insulin injections haven’t been on a set schedule. I adjusted his insulin accordingly with good results. I’ve heard he should stay on a set schedule. With his glucose readings stabilized, should I worry?

I am seeing double in my left eye. I had Bell’s palsy on the same side of my face. Is this a form of stroke which has damaged the optic nerve or could it be that the palsy has affected the sixth as well as the seventh cranial nerve?

My nine year old son recently had a two hour after meal serum blood glucose level of 132 mg/dl [7.3 mmol/L]. I know that the range for a person who does not have diabetes should be 65-109 mg/dl [3.6-6 mmol/L]. Is it unusual for a person who does not have diabetes to have such a variance?

My eight year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on a year ago. Does the Americans with Disability Act, or any other law, have a provision which requires that his school have someone someone on the premises who will administer glucagon or insulin to him in an emergency?
